Event Review: Dinner & Wine Pairing At The Lawns Restaurant

Blogkla had the pleasure of attending the first Dinner and wine tasting series at The Lawns Game Restaurant on October 25, 2018. The dinner which cost 98,000/= per person was held on the terrace of the restaurant and featured 5 courses of food paired with five glasses of wine to compliment each meal.

The table was set for a seating of 14 guests.

Meena, the proprieter of the hotel and her team gave a warm welcome to the group and introduced the event to the guests.










The First Course was the grilled chimichurri chicken and vegetable salad paired with Zonin Sparkling Prosecco





The Second course was Roasted red pepper, sweet potato & smoked paprika soup paired with Mudhouse Sauvignon Blanc 2017



The third course was Assorted Canapes: Sweet Chilli Prawns, Mini Lamb Kebab and chilli philly potato cakes paired with Hardy's Nottage Hill Chardonnay 2016


The fourth course was the main: Lemon & herb crusted beef fillet steak served with mashed potatoes and gravy paired with Navarro Collecion Privada Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

The fifth and final course was the dessert; Chocolate Brownie with Caramel Sauce paired with Cockburn's Port reserve vinho do porto.


George the sommelier from Uganda Wines, did what he does best by introducing the wines described how they pair with the courses.
