Kampala has many art galleries that showcase numerous exhibitions. You can check these out on weekdays, weekends or on holidays. These are our top 5 art galleries to check out in the city.


Nommo Art Gallery



Nommo Art Gallery is Uganda's national and oldest art gallery. It is situated in Nakasero near the State Lodge and showcases various exhibits from local and international artists.


Afriart Gallery




Afriart Art Gallery established in 2002 is a modern Contemporary Arts Gallery. Their contemporary art spaces in Kamwokya and Industrial Area also offer an art/member's lounge, library, art shop and professional framing services.



32° East / Ugandan Arts Trust





32° East | Ugandan Arts Trust located in Bunga, Gaba Road is an independent non-profit organisation, focused on the creation and exploration of contemporary art in Uganda. They offer studios and accommodation for artists in residence, a contemporary art library, computers & editing suites, meeting areas and outdoor workshop space. They also showcase the art work of the artists in residence in their studio. The KLAART festival project that runs from Aug 8th - 31st is organized by 32° East.



Umoja Art Gallery



Also Located in Kamwokya off Kira road, Umoja Art Gallery has various exhibits and art pieces from Local and international artists.



Karibu Art Gallery




Karibu Art Gallery in bukoto is an artist run gallery featuring local abstract and contemporary art.



Millerntor Gallery



Millentor Gallery is a pop-up social art, music and culture festival space by Viva Con Agua Uganda aimed at raising funds for water. Check out their facebook page for more events and exhibits.
