A year ago Kampala had only 3 properly functioning online food delivery apps/services. This was normal given the fact that every one in Kampala pretty much has a "boda guy" that runs their errands so those apps weren't really useful.
Fast forward to 2020 and mostly due to the Covid-19 pandemic that hindered the efficiency of Boda services, food delivery apps/services have suddenly blown up out of nowhere. Quotes "neccessity is the mother of invention"..ha..cheesy,, Anyways, we tried a few delivery services during lockdown and compiled a few that worked for us. Check them out below.
1. Jumia Food
Obviously the reigning king/queen of food delivery in Kampala because they have been in the market the longest, Jumia is now busier than ever. They have the largest number of restaurants and locations available for delivery in and around Kampala. They also have Jumia Supermarket that includes major grocery stores in the city and also deliver Alcohol through their Jumia Party App.

Using their app, SafeBoda delivers pretty much everywhere in the CBD where it operates. They deliver to a wider location range than other apps.

3. Klaeats
Ordering food on Klaeats can be done via their listed phone numbers and social media platforms Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Since they don't have an app or website, you can view the participating restaurants on their socials.

Focusing on running errands and delivery, Pink Tie will do all your tasks and deliver your items to your door within an hour. These 2 supermarkets share the number 10 spot because they use some of the delivery services mentioned above but also have their own in store delivery services. Customers can call in to order their products from their direct phone lines.
Verity imports American grocery store products from Costco Houston. If you're craving foreign products that aren't sold in local supermarkets, check them out. They might have them in stock.
Le Gourmet imports a lot of their products from Belgium. They have various Belgian and European products in stock.
